If you are interested in volunteering “behind the scenes,” the IBOB Executive Committee is currently looking for people to work on the Elementary Division Book Selection Committee and the Middle Grades Book Selection Committee, to help select books for the next season and then help write battle questions for the selected titles. We also welcome volunteers to assist with our regional tournaments in the spring.

Book Selection Committee Responsibilities
- Attend several meetings from October through March and help choose books for each division
- Read 2-4 books as part of your commitment and provide thoughtful comments/recommendations about the books you read
Question Committee Responsibilities
- Read 1-2 assigned books
- Write 40 “in which book” questions that range between easy, medium, and hard
- Write 40 content questions that range between easy, medium, and hard
- Edit questions as needed
Tournament Volunteer Responsibilities
- Attend the tournament in person (usually in March or April — date will be set the previous fall)
- Serve in one or more of the following roles: Moderator, Scorekeeper, Timekeeper, Runner, Registrar, Setup/Cleanup, other duties as assigne
